Everyone interviews. Everyone has those “what if” butterflies. Even successful entrepreneurs have to interview to attract customers, talent, capital.
Rule #1: Everyone Needs Interviewing Skills
Don’t let yourself believe that interviews are just something required of you. Here are a few interviewing tips to help you take control of interviews.
Rule #2: Know Yourself
Now this is more than the “what are your greatest strengths” or “where do you want to be in five years.” This question is for you… no matter what happens from the interview. This is time to think about what is really important to you and also time to see where that fits with the opportunity for which you are interviewing.
Rule #3: Know Your Value
One thing that we have learned in a decade of helping Ticket To Work beneficiaries is that everyone has value. To be fair, sometimes it takes us longer to help our Ticket Holders to find and recognize that value but it’s there.
Rule #4: Do Your Homework
No matter how well you answer the questions in an interview or how sharply you dress or anything else… you have to demonstrate that you did your homework. What do you know about the company? Do you know anyone at the company who can help you understand where they need help?
Use this rules to prepare for you interview and find the fit that is for you!
